Mission
To enhance service delivery to
people with an intellectual disability through quality recruitment, co-ordination
and recognition of volunteers within the Oakleigh Centre.
Opportunities
for Volunteers
The Oakleigh Centre offers a diverse
range of services to people with disabilities. Opportunities for volunteers
are many and varied. Volunteer roles include:
- Assisting in the Opportunity
Shops
- Supporting clients in
day activity programs such as swimming, art, games and computers
- Supporting clients to
access recreation and leisure options, eg. a holiday to Apollo Bay,
a day at the cricket, the Centre disco, a classical concert, woodwork
- Being a community friend
and sharing a hobby and/or enjoying outings together
- Gardening at community
residences
- Minor
maintenance tasks
