Fundraising, Donations and Bequests

The Oakleigh Centre is a not for profit organisation. It receives funding from Federal and State Government Departments but relies on fundraising and donations to fill the gaps and ensure that our services are of the highest possible standard.

The Centre holds a number of fundraising events throughout the year. The two major annual fundraising events are our Charity Golf Day and Christmas Tree Festival.

Charity Golf Day
The Oakleigh Centre held its Annual Charity Golf Day at The Metropolitan Golf Course on Sunday, 2 March 2008.  This was the 13th year The Metropolitan Golf Club has generously donated the use of their course and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by the 220 golfers who relished the opportunity of playing on such a magnificent course.  The golf day has proven to be the Oakleigh Centre’s main fundraiser and this year we raised $31,500.

If you would like to be placed on the mailing list for next year’s golf day, please call Elspeth on 9569 0603 or email info@oakleighcentre.org

Christmas Tree Festival
Since the early 1960’s the Oakleigh Centre has been selling Christmas trees to raise funds. A parent, Frank Burton, who sold trees from his backyard, initiated the event.

Fresh quality trees and stands are available at reasonable prices throughout December.

The Festival is staffed totally by volunteers and all profits go to the Centre’s programs. Customers and volunteers are always in demand. Enquiries welcome on 9569 0603.

Have fun and enjoy the true spirit of Christmas by giving to others!

Donations, Bequests
The Oakleigh Centre always welcomes contributions. The Centre is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient. This means that any contribution of $2 or more is tax deductible. All enquiries to 9569 0603.
